Last Friday, we had the pleasure of welcoming some of the Leadership Team from BDO onto our Taste of Manchester Experience – and what a brilliant afternoon it was.
If you’re looking for something a bit different for your next social get-together, this experience really does tick every box. It’s relaxed, fun, full of flavour and, as the BDO team discovered, the perfect way to explore a city you might think you already know.
A Foodie Adventure Through Manchester’s Indie Scene
Hosted by Walking Food Tours UK Founder, Gareth, the group were taken on a journey across four fantastic independent venues – all handpicked for their quality, passion and individuality. And, best of all, most of the guests hadn’t been to any of them before.
From vibrant Middle Eastern dishes to indulgent pancakes, aromatic Indian flavours, beers, cocktails/mocktails and wine, there was plenty to enjoy. Every stop brought something different to the table – literally.
More Than Great Food – Culture, History and Proper Manchester Storytelling
As always, it wasn’t just about the food.
Throughout the experience, Gareth shared stories of Manchester’s past – from its Roman roots to The Middle Ages, Industrial Manchester, and of course, the era that helped define a generation: Madchester.
Because when you’re exploring a city with this much character, the history is part of the flavour.
Finishing in a Hidden Gem
After tasting their way through the city, the group wrapped up the experience in a real hidden gem for drinks. By this point, everyone was more than full – so this final stop was really about relaxing, chatting and soaking up the atmosphere.
And the verdict?
“We really enjoyed it. It’s amazing how little we know about a city we work in!”
