WALKING FOOD TOURS UK

Introducing A Taste of Manchester Food Tour

Manchester has officially earned its place on the UK’s culinary map, so we’re so excited to launch A Taste of Manchester Food Tour, a brand-new guided food and drink tour that celebrates the best of the city’s thriving independent scene. From rich cultural roots to contemporary street eats and bold drinks menus, Manchester is a city that knows how to feed you well – and we’re serving it up one stop at a time.

A Full-Flavoured Tour Through Manchester

Led by Walking Food Tours UK founder Gareth, this experience takes you off the beaten track and into the heart of Manchester’s food culture. Over the course of around four hours, you’ll visit five carefully selected independent venues, each offering something unique — from vibrant street food kitchens to cosy restaurants and characterful bars.

At each stop, you’ll enjoy a curated food or drink experience (or both!), adding up to a full meal spread across multiple locations. Think bold flavours, passionate people, and local pride served up with every bite and sip.

And yes – alcoholic and soft drinks are included at selected stops, all designed to enhance your culinary journey.

Why Manchester? Why Now?

Don’t just take our word for it — some of the UK’s top food writers and critics agree: Manchester is one of the country’s most exciting destinations for food lovers.

Award-winning journalist Jay Rayner has praised multiple Manchester venues in recent years, noting the city’s transformation from ‘a drinking city’ to one bursting with culinary creativity and independent spirit. With a growing reputation for high-quality food served with soul, Manchester’s food scene is both down-to-earth and boundary-pushing.

The Times has shone a spotlight on areas like Ancoats, home to Mana — the city’s first Michelin-starred restaurant — and a hub for edgy food concepts, hidden bars, and creative kitchens. Meanwhile, Food & Wine declared Manchester as ‘England’s Most Exciting Food City‘, thanks to its unique ability to blend historical character with modern gastronomic flair.

In short, it’s a city that’s earned its foodie stripes — and now’s the perfect time to explore it.
