At Walking Food Tours UK, we’re often asked: How do you decide which venues to include on your tours? Do you always use the same places? What goes into creating these experiences? So, let us let you into a little secret…
Curating the perfect food experience isn’t just a job – it’s a passion. Every tour we host is the result of careful planning, personal research, and strong partnerships with incredible independent food and drink venues.
It All Starts With The Discovery
We’re always on the lookout for the best that a town or city has to offer. From the perfectly brewed coffee to a show-stopping dessert, we take great pride in discovering venues that make us say, “Yes, this needs to be shared!”
But it’s not just about great food and drink. To feature on one of our tours, a venue also needs to bring warm, welcoming service and a great atmosphere. It’s this combination that helps create a truly memorable experience for our guests.
Today, for example, we sampled a stunning dessert at a new spot in Liverpool – one we’ve been in talks with for months. And we’re thrilled to say it will be making its debut on our A Taste of Liverpool Food Tour very soon!
Building Meaningful Partnerships
We don’t just ‘pick’ venues – we build relationships. Whether it’s a cosy wine bar, a buzzing street food spot, or a fine dining gem, we work closely with venue owners and managers to ensure they’re just as excited about our tours as we are.
Our partners are typically notified around two weeks ahead of a tour, giving them plenty of time to prepare and deliver the top-tier service our guests expect.
No Two Tours Are The Same
Each itinerary is hand-curated based on the size of the group, dietary requirements, and even the vibe of the day. This means that even if you’ve joined us before, you’re likely to visit a whole new set of places next time.
We’ve welcomed many returning guests who say they love the variety and personal touch we bring every single time.
From Booking To Bites
Once you book your tour, you’ll receive confirmation and detailed joining instructions so you know exactly where to be and what to expect. On the day, you’ll be greeted by your friendly guide, and from there it’s all about enjoying good company, local stories, and of course – exceptional food and drink.
What’s Next?
We’re always expanding, exploring, and tasting our way through new venues, and we’re excited to bring even more brilliant independents onto our tours in the months ahead.
Whether it’s your first experience or your fifth, know that each bite, sip, and stop along the way has been chosen with care – and a genuine love for great food and people.
