How would you spend a perfect wine-lover’s weekend in Liverpool – in the city centre and a little further afield?

Fear not: we at Liverpool Wine Tours have got you covered.

Liverpool has an incredible wine scene that we love introducing guests to on our tours. But we also know you might want to stay a little longer at some of these venues — or build them into your own trip.

Liverpool wine scene

So, here’s our hand-picked list: some of our regular stops and partners, plus a few other places we think are brilliant and deserve a proper shout.

How to Use This List

We’ve added two quick things for each spot:

  • Wine style/speciality (French, natural, sparkling, etc.)

  • The vibe (date night, casual, day drinking, groups…)

Because let’s be honest – not everyone fancies a glass of Châteauneuf-du-Pape at 2pm. Maybe you do. Who are we to judge?

Liverpool wine list

Right. To the list.

1. A Tavola – East Village, Duke Street

Tucked away just off one of Liverpool’s busiest streets, you’ll find A Tavola – a little slice of Italy you didn’t know you needed. Italian wine and hospitality come together for a beautiful deli-style experience.

Ideal for a post-shopping tipple, or an evening meal with fresh pasta dishes from Maria, the owner.

Wine speciality: Italian wine specialists
Best for: Casual afternoons/date night/groups/friends

2. Bunch – Berry Street

If you’re in the Ropewalks, pop around the corner to Bunch. They’re a natural wine bar with genuinely top-tier kitchen takeovers.

You never quite know who will be in the kitchen, but the food is always creative and beautifully done. Dean will make you feel right at home – tell him what you like and he’ll guide you to some seriously tasty and unusual bottles.

Wine speciality: Natural/organic
Best for: Date night/ ambience/small plates/chill

3. Petit Café du Coin – Berry Street

This area is so good for bars it’s not fair on the rest of the city centre.

For live music 6–7 nights a week, this is your place: a proper French bistro vibe with a warm, knowledgeable team. In the daytime, it’s relaxed and welcoming – in the evening, it comes alive.

Wine speciality: French wine and cheeseboards
Best for: Date night/cocktails/live music

4. Queen’s – Queen’s Avenue, Castle Street

Heading towards Liverpool’s business district, you’ll find a tucked-away road hiding some of the city’s best spots – including Queen’s Bistro.

They’re right next door to R&H Fine Wines, who supply the restaurant, so it’s worth popping in there if you fall in love with anything you try. Small plates, mains, afternoon nibbles… they do it all, and they do it well. Grab a seat outside for chilled afternoon drinks if the weather plays ball.

Wine speciality: Great range and great staff
Best for: Food-led evenings (book if you can)/flexible daytime walk-ins

5. Corked – Oriel Chambers, Water Street

A newer addition to Liverpool’s wine scene, Corked is a dedicated wine bar created by three friends in hospitality.

Expect a strong by-the-glass selection, staff who actually know their stuff, and a brilliant location that’s perfect for a city-centre crawl.

Wine speciality: Great range and great staff
Best for: Daytime or evening/groups / date night

6. Maray – Albert Dock/Bold Street

Maray has a couple of venues around Liverpool. The Albert Dock location comes with a gorgeous view, and their wine list is full of unusual, interesting choices – Georgia and Greece included.

Come for the wines… stay for the Disco Cauliflower.

Wine speciality: Unusual selections
Best for: Evening or daytime/small plates

7. Buyer’s Club – Hardman Street

Our list wouldn’t be complete without Buyer’s Club. Some of the best pizza and pasta this side of the Tyrrhenian Sea – and the wine matches the menu perfectly.

You’ll find natural, still and sparkling options for every kind of plan. In the daytime, the beer garden becomes a full-on wine garden. In the evening, it’s always buzzing.

Wine speciality: Natural and sparkling and classics
Best for: Evening or daytime / date night / groups

Want Us to Take You to the Best Spots (and Do the Thinking for You)?

We could go on forever… but we should probably stop now, lest we start a Liverpool Wine Tour and try to visit them all. Oh wait… 😉
