Great tour with Trev in Liverpool. Especially enjoyed Lunya (wonderland of Spanish produce) and will be ordering from them online in the future. The tour is the perfect way to get your bearings while enjoying lovely food and drink, getting some spot on recommendations. Cheers Trev.

Great trip, would do it again We had our tour with Trev, and from the very start he was friendly, open, and informative. My friends and I were 'delicate' from the night before so he tailored the tour to meet our needs. He gave us suggestions for where to go for the remainder of our trip, took us to his favourite pub, and was just a delight to spend an afternoon with. My friends and I did a similar tour in another city and this was far superior. Each venue was welcoming with good quality fare, and I especially liked the vibe of Lanya (though this might've been better with wine flights - obvs for an extra fee) as I didn't love the wine choice. But the a very small 'me problem' and I powered through and drank it like a champ. I would definitely recommend this tour, and definitely definitely recommend Trev.

The best walking wine tour I've ever taken. I'm from Canada and staying in Liverpool a month. I've been widowed for six months now, and fun is hard to come by. But I had HOURS of fun yesterday on my Liverpool Wine Tour. I cannot say enough good things about Mikey. He is friendly, knowledgeable, and gives great hugs to sad women who need them. I smiled and laughed more than I've done in ages, and for short bursts of laughter or clinking of glasses, I could forget my pain. The wines at all four stops were delicious, as was the food the proprietors served with it. We walked around a part of town I'm quite familiar with, but I'd never been in any of the wine bars/restaurants we visited. It was just me and Mikey as several others had to cancel. I did not miss them. I felt totally at ease with Mikey and every server/owner was wonderful and kind to me. Tip: be prepared to walk about 3000-4000 steps, mostly on flat pavements. Good shoes are a must. If you've ever thought that Liverpool wasn't the place for excellent wine bars, think again, and book with this company. They're fantastic. Kim from Canada

I recently took the Liverpool Walking Food Tour and had a fantastic experience. Our guide, Gareth, was absolutely superb. I had previously joined his Chester food tour and was blown away by his knowledge and enthusiasm, so I had high expectations going into this one, and he exceeded them once again. Gareth's passion for food, local history, and the city itself really shines through. His extensive knowledge of Liverpool, its hidden gems, and the local vendors made the experience both engaging and entertaining from start to finish. The tour offered a great mix of delicious food and fascinating insights, allowing us to discover some wonderful independent businesses and enjoy the very best of what the city has to offer. What really sets Gareth apart is the extra effort he puts in. After the tour, he followed up with photos he had taken of the group and the locations we visited, along with additional recommendations for places to eat and explore. The tour was excellent value for money, and I would recommend it to anyone visiting Liverpool or even locals looking to discover something new about their city. A definite 10/10 experience, and one I would happily do again! Highly recommended.

I gifted my son this tour as a birthday present and we completed the tour together. We are both pretty active and really enjoy good food so it seemed a great idea to combine the two! Booking was really easy and I had great communication from Gareth prior to the date. Gareth met us in person on the day and we embarked on a really enjoyable few hours walking around the city and visiting some lovely eating places. My son and I are familiar with Chester but we learned some interesting new facts about the city. We also got to visit eating places we hadn’t thought about before, and some we weren’t aware existed! Gareth was a great communicator, both interested and interesting. He had prepared really well for our tour and the hosts at the eating places were welcoming and very hospitable. We ate some really delicious food and learned about its provenance. We both finished the tour feeling very full and having enjoyed a great experience together. I would definitely recommend and wouldn’t hesitate to go ahead with another of the walking tours available.

Amazing wine tasting tour I booked a wine tasting tour in Chester as a birthday present for my wife. Booking with Gareth was easy, he was super helpful and responsive. We are both local to Chester and we were still blown away by the experience . The tour was relaxed, fun and informative. We sampled 5 excellent wines all accompanied with light bites that complemented their flavour. Gareth made the whole experience feel personal and enjoyable. 100% recommend. We will definitely be booking a food tour next!

Interesting and enjoyable. Lovely and fascinating tour with fantastic food and drinks. Although we live locally the tour proved both really interesting and introduced us to a number of food and drink makers, vendors and venues we would never have found on our own. Our guide, Heather was friendly, knowledgeable and ensured we were really well looked after. I would certainly recommend this particulars tour, and am already figuring out which one we could go on next.

Another amazing tour with Mikey. What a day! Even the horrendous rain didn’t dampen our delight! From beautiful pastries at the Albert Dock (Rough Handmade), amazing aromas of tea at the Liverpool Tea Warehouse and a mix of Spanish (Lunya) and Italian (Hey Farina) food to die for. And to top it a visit to a cell at The Bridewell which made us laugh a lot. Everyone at the venues was so friendly and of course Mikey as always was charming. I would recommend this tour for an amazing day of fabulous food and lots of information about Liverpool. Brilliant!

Plenty to eat Wonderful way to spend a bank holiday in Chester. From the Town Hall, out along Northgate Street then around the walls before a little detour over the Old Dee Bridge to Handbridge and back again. Plenty to eat with some beer and wine. Guide Mal was a great host. Put your comfy shoes on as we walked about 2.5 miles including up and down the City walls

My wife booked the Liverpool Wine Tasting tour and I was nothing but impressed. Mikey was the perfect host - very professional, passionate and knowledgeable. We visited 4 venues, 3 of which we’d never knew existed - and we will 100% return. I’d highly recommend this experience to friends and family and wouldn’t hesitate booking again in the future.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had the best time on the wine tour yesterday with Mikey! 🍷 He was absolutely fantastic! so knowledgeable, friendly and clearly passionate about Liverpool. He made the whole experience feel really personal and interesting. We had such a brilliant day, discovered some fantastic places and enjoyed some lovely wine along the way! 🍷🥂 Would 100% recommend Mikey and the tour to anyone wanting to see a different side of Liverpool. Gareth provided the best walking food tour we have ever been on! He informed us of pertinent history and stories along the route we took, very engaging and easy to speak with. He also curated specialized food stops of small local owners that are 5 star! Everything we ate is something we would definitely come back for the next time we are in Liverpool! I would recommend him to everyone we know coming to the areas he covers.

We had such a lovely time at the Cheshire wine and cheese tasting and vineyard visit. Gareth was a brilliant guide and made the whole experience feel relaxed, interesting and really enjoyable. We loved hearing about the vineyard, learning more about the wine and, of course, sampling the wine and cheese! It was a really lovely evening and something we’ll definitely remember. We’d highly recommend it. 😊

Fantastic Liverpool Food Walking Tour We booked Gareth Boyd’s food walking tour as a corporate event for our network, and the experience exceeded expectations from start to finish. The evening was incredibly well organised and paced perfectly, with a great mix of food, conversation, walking, and discovering more about the city along the way. Gareth was a fantastic host knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about Liverpool. He took us on a food tour through the city with stops at Queens, Pasta Lab/Gran Café, and Lunya, each offering something different and equally enjoyable. Along the way, he shared facts about Liverpool, its history, and famous landmarks, which added so much to the overall experience. The atmosphere throughout was relaxed, welcoming, and full of great conversation. Our guests thoroughly enjoyed the evening, and it was a brilliant way to bring people together in a more informal setting. We would highly recommend Gareth for corporate groups, team events, or anyone looking for a unique way to experience Liverpool and any other city!

Great Liverpool food tour We had a fabulous food walking tour around Liverpool. Our guide, Gareth, was excellent—courteous, engaging, and genuinely interested in getting to know everyone in the group, which made the experience feel very personal and welcoming. Gareth’s local knowledge was outstanding. He shared fascinating insights about the city’s history, culture, and food scene that we wouldn’t have discovered on our own. The tour included visits to three independent local restaurants, each offering something different and delicious. The staff at every stop were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, clearly passionate about what they do and happy to share their expertise with us. The team warehouse visit was also good fun. Overall, it was a fantastic way to explore Liverpool through its food and people. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone

Fantastic food tour with Gareth! We had the most incredible experience on our walking food tour in Chester! Gareth, our fantastic guide, was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, sharing fascinating historical insights while guiding us to hidden culinary gems. From fresh oysters to delicious Turkish meze, every bite and sip was absolutely stunning. The restaurants were warm and welcoming, making the whole experience unforgettable. We ate, drank, chatted, and learned so much—it was a perfect day! Can’t wait to book another tour soon.

An delicious afternoon of Wine in Liverpool Attended the Liverpool Wine Tour Experience last Sunday for my 50th Birthday. We were guided expertly by Gareth - who made the job of leading the tour look effortless. The four venues we visited, showcased how far Liverpool has come in terms of food and drink offerings, with a cracking cross-section of varied Independent venues that we will certainly be revisiting. Staff were enthusiastic and welcoming and I would recommend this to both locals and visitors to the city. Dietary requirements were all carefully catered for.

Best Walking Food Tour Experience! I took a few of my clients out on Gareth's Food Tour after having heard the reviews from my colleagues. The tour was absolutely brilliant and worth every penny! Gareth made sure we all were looked after and that we enjoyed every aspect of the tour. On top of the lovely food and drink we had the pleasure of trying, Gareth gave us insights into the history of the places we visited. We tried food and drink from Lunya, Madre, Bar Glue, Hey Farina and BoBo. Gareth introduced us to staff/management at each restaurant who were warm and hospitable. I personally would highly recommend Gareth's tour to anyone who is looking to explore Liverpool's rich and exciting restaurants and bars!

Great way to experience Chester with knowledgeable guide, good food and company I did the Chester tour with my father-in-law and Gareth was our guide. We both really enjoyed the experience and learned a fair bit about the city we have lived just 10 miles away from for many years. The food was delicious and all at venues we had not visited before. Gareth was a knowledgeable host and the other guests were good company. I would really recommend the experience and we are already looking forward to doing some of the other city tours.
