Last Thursday, I had the pleasure of hosting our inaugural Cheshire Vineyard Experience – and what a fantastic evening it turned out to be.
Twelve guests joined me outside Chester Railway Station, where we boarded a luxury mini-bus ready to swap the city streets for the rolling Cheshire countryside.
To get everyone into the spirit of things, we kicked off with a wine quiz on the journey to Fairview Vineyard.
A Warm Welcome at Fairview Vineyard
Upon arrival, we received a warm welcome from Liane, one of the owners of Fairview Vineyard, who led us on a fascinating tour of the vineyard.
Thankfully, the weather was kind to us. Guests were able to enjoy the beautiful surroundings, spectacular Cheshire views and, as if on cue, even a rainbow made an appearance.
It was the perfect setting for an evening of local wine, relaxed conversation and countryside charm.
Wine Tasting with Cheshire Cheese
Of course, no vineyard visit would be complete without wine tasting.
Following the tour, we settled in for a generous tasting of Fairview’s wines, perfectly accompanied by two locally produced Cheshire cheeses.
Liane shared the story behind each wine, offering fascinating insight into the vineyard, the winemaking process and the characteristics of each bottle.
There was plenty of opportunity for guests to ask questions, making the experience both informative and relaxed.
A Smooth First Cheshire Vineyard Experience
As this was the first time I had curated and hosted this particular experience, I must admit I was a little concerned about timings beforehand.
In reality, I needn’t have worried.
The evening flowed perfectly, with guests enjoying ample time to taste, chat, ask questions and browse the vineyard shop before we departed.
In fact, I think almost everyone left with a bottle or two tucked under their arm!

Right on schedule, our mini-bus returned us to Chester and since then the feedback has been wonderful.
